In 1997
3Com merged with US Robotics, allowing the company to launch the
handheld industry with the first ground-breaking product in that
arena: the Palm Pilot. Palm, Inc. was spun off in 2000, while
3Com continues to focus on its telecommunications hardware and
services expertise.
As Senior Web Strategy Manager for
3Com/Palm's Global Marketing Group, I managed a team of web
resources and over 42 corporate web sites. Responsible for
the user interface, design and lead-and-awareness generation of
these properties, I drove the migration of these sites into one
standardized look and feel to drive economies of scale. This UI can
still be seen on 3Com.com.
Responsibilities: Managed
design, content, related maintenance and ERP integration for over 42
web properties across the 3Com/Palm Global Marketing organization
including 3Com.com, PalmSource.com, PalmOS.com, online stores, e-learning
sites, partner portals, campaign sites and more; wrote RFPs and
defined requirements for site integration into global
authentication, e-commerce, content management & personalization
systems; formed
relationships and lines of communication across all levels of the organization
to drive parallel-path efforts. More >
